Wow.......50 years.....Got drafted after dropping out of college . I didn't carry a gun (thought killing people was wrong) so I was trained as medic- figured I was on my way to Vietnam, but ended up in Korea. Spent 6 months driving an ambulance and 6 months playing guitar and bass guitar in a band entertaining at EM and officer clubs. Best duty in the world.
Moved to Boston when I got out and studied jazz on electric guitar at Berklee College. Had a great time in Boston, also spent some time building a ferro-cement sailboat. Played some R & B (only white guy in the band) and other stuff as well.
Came back out west to Seattle (lived for a while just up the street from the Blue Moon) and played music of various kinds. Started climbing mountains with Mick Nelson and with my old Boston friend Tim McNulty whose name you might recognize if you read poetry, NW natural history  or environmental activist stuff-spent lots of summers in the mountains. Also met Autumn Scott, now my wife of many years.
We went back to Boston to finish up my degree on the GI bill, then came out west again and moved into a cabin in the woods north of Quilcene. No power, no plumbing- had to walk in 3/4 of a mile. Autumn was waiting tables, then working with developmentally disabled folks in Pt Townsned. I spent some years as part of  a worker owned business planting trees. Nothing quite like working outdoors in the NW in the winter.
Got interested in solar power after a few years-  used a generator as well. We lived there a dozen years, then moved on to our own 5 acres south of Chimacum where we have been ever since. ( First few years with solar panels and generator, now fully on the grid).
I worked with developmently disabled folks with Autumn for a while, since then I have been teaching private music lessons at Crossroads music in Pt. Townsend and playing gigs a couple of weekends a month- mostly guitar but also bass, saxophone and flute- occasionally Eb tuba with a tuba/accordion duo.  Groups vary from duo to sextet, usually jazz stuff- latest project is an R & B band with horns. I also play bass with the local community orchestra. I've been lucky enough to get onto the faculty for Centrum's Jazz Pt Townsend for years- get to rub elbows with world class musicians.
Ran my first martathon when I turned 60 and have run a few since along with some half marathons.  Got re-hooked on skiing via Mick Nelson and Bill Kotsogean, then switched to the snowboard- sometimes I'm the oldest snowboard guy on the hill.
Some of us are still here for a while longer- life is good.

In July 2011 I retired from audiology, teaching and research at the University of Kansas Medical Center where I had worked since 1989. Within days I was teaching a one-semester Pediatric Audiology course at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. So much for retirement. Now my husband and I are enjoying an unscheduled life of retirement in Kansas City. Warren writes for fun (see http://www.warrenbull.com). We are active in our church. I serve on the board of directors for an inner city agency that includes a wonderful child and family development center (http://www.uicskc.org). We walk, read, travel. For an only child with neither siblings nor children, I seem to have acquired a lot of family through Warren: sisters and brother, with in-laws, nieces, nephews and great n&n. They live all over the country and we love to visit them. Send Judy a MessageSend Judy a Message

I'm currently living  in Tri-Cities with my husband , Frank, of 47 years.  We have a family Computer Store business, Alpha Computer Center, Inc. (an authorized Apple Reseller) for the past 33 years.  After retiring from the Washington State Patrol 21 years ago, Frank joined me in our business which he manages on a day to day now.  I enjoy quilting, crocheting, and spending time with my Sisters, quilting friends, and our Grandchilden (ages 24, 21, 15, 11, and 7).  When we can "sneak away" we enjoy our 40' Motorhome and traveling the Northwest and accross the states.  Life is good!!   Send Della a MessageSend Della a Message

Committed Relationship 1 3
Nice to be attending our 50th reunion. Graduated from WWU in Accounting and lived in Seattle about 25 years raising my son and then having a lot of fun with my grandkids.  Lived one year in Costa Rica hosting a bed and breakfast.  Wonderful time and wonderful friends.  Nine years ago, Steve Johnson, from our class, called and asked me to join him on his boat for a trip through the Swinomish Channel and we have been together since then.  I never thought that I would move back to the valley but am very happy.  Still close enough to the grandkids to enjoy events and am able to grow a garden which Steve keeps up for me.  I work in LaConner.  Send Roberta a MessageSend Roberta a Message
