Bill Kotsogean’s  Biography for 50th Reunion

After high school I went to the University of Washington where I met my first wife (Judy). My degree was in Electrical Engineering. I left in my junior year to follow Judy to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she became a stewardess (that’s what they were called in 1968). I went to the University of Minnesota for a year and then transferred back to the University of Washington where I graduated in 1969. My marriage didn’t last long – she had a guy in every city. I moved to California for a year and was an electronic tech when I started seeing my second wife – Kim, who I had met in Minneapolis – another stewardess. We were married for 8 years. She had a son who is my step son – Chris. Chris and I continue to be close. He is married to Anne and they now live in Marysville and have two children (they are  11 and 13 years old).

I joined Puget Power, now PSE,  in 1973 and worked in Burlington for 6 years helping people get power to their new homes. In 1979 I changed jobs within the company and moved to Redmond working in Bellevue. My last ten years at the company were in IT (Information Technology). I worked on a product called SAP.  I retired in 2010 and then worked a while longer as a contractor in 2012 but retired for good at the end of that year. In 1981 I went back to the UofW and got a masters in electrical engineering and became a registered electric engineer in the state of Washington.

Soon after moving to Bellevue, I met my present wife, CeLinda. We met because she was my dental hygienist – “only floss the ones you want to keep.” We have now been married for 35 years. We live in Redmond and are very happy. She has Addison's disease and we work together to keep her healthy.

We are both retired now. I don't work at all and she works only one day a month just to keep her license up. I am very busy with friends, relatives and doing projects. I am currently designing a new bedroom for the house and will do much work in the construction.

My email address is karenew09@gmail.com. Of course there is a story behind that. I am a crossdresser (gender fluid). I came out of the closet in 1987 and joined the Emerald City that year. The Emerald City is a transgender social club in Seattle. I have been an officer in the club since that time. My fem name is Karen Williams. If you are interested in more of this story, check out my website at http://karenew.transg.org/

Looking back on high school, I can say that I truly enjoyed it. I loved all the people, the classes, the athletics, the games and my friends. I still see several of my friends from high school like Mike Nelson and Christie Nelson (Patty Christie). I also see Chuck Easton and even Bob Ozretich now and then.

I am a happily retired girl who in my working life spent most of my time in academia and on the development side of the pharmaceutical industry. My retirement time is spent gardening for the hungry in my home garden and at the Governor's Mansion where the gardens have been turned over to vegetable gardens The harvest is donated to a local food bank. This is done through my parish at the Cathedral of Saint John in Denver. I also cook for our Women's Homeless Initiative where we house overnight, care for and feed homeless women one night per week. Recently I also begun chairing an Arts Committee at the parish.
My children, Sarah and Ian have centered my life, but now that hey are grown and married, we have all entered new chapters of our lives. Sarah was a clinical nurse manager and was just promoted to nurse educator at the prestigious Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles. Ian is a well known and respected artist working in Denver. He was just juried into the publication, "New American Paintings, Juried Exhibitions-In-Print, 114". 2014 was a banner year for him as he also had a solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver.
My life is also filled with my 2 doggies, Bailey, a Maltese and Jack, an Australian Silky Terrier. They love road trips with me to the southwest, but are homebound when I visit Europe. 2014 saw a trip to France with a Chateaux and Vineyards river cruise in Bordeaux, followed by a food exploration through Gascony and Aquitaine. It was such a great experience that this Fall, I will be returning to Burgundy and Provence.

Biggest news is that my sweetheart, Felicia Vaue, were finally able to legally marry.

On our 26th anniversary together in 2013, we did so!  It was our third wedding.  In a church, with a bell ringing and a second line brass band parade down the street to the reception!

In other news: Felicia has a solo law pracice here in town.  I have a Reiki practice (ask me when you see me!) and work in a bookstore.  We have a large vegetable garden in our front yard,  Very much enjoy road trips, have driven across the country several times, primarily on back roads.  Closer to home, we have a 12' boat so we can putter around the slough.  Mostly drop anchor and sit in our sand chairs watching the birds go by!

Grateful for the life we have today.
Lucky cusses!
See you Friday eve.
