Well, 50 years sure flew by!  I worked as a cytotechnologist (a person who looks through a microscope to find cancer from different parts of the body) in a Bellingham pathology laboratory for 23 years.  During that time I also did histology (a person who makes stained slides from tissues from biopsies), drew blood and assisted our pathologist with atutopsies.  It was all very interesting.  In the 80's I came back to work at a Mount Vernon lab and just did cytology until 2011 when a huge national lab bought out our lab and took all the work to Seattle.  I managed to draw the COBRA insurance until Medicare kicked in and the unemployment until I got to age 66 and Social Security took over.
During that time I had two daughters and eventually two son-in-laws who are Skagit and Whatcom County sheriff deputies and 3 grandchildren.  They all live in Sedro Woolley.  The oldest grandson just finished his junior year and is a football quarterback for SWHS football team.  They won the state tournament in their division this year for the first time in SWHS history!  Now he is looking at colleges and is being looked at by WSU for acedemics and football as well as by other colleges.  His parents are hoping for scholarships!   Our granddaughter will be a sophmore and is big in volleyball.  The youngest grandson will be in 4th grade and is into football, basketball and baseball.  Their baseball team won their county wide championship.  All three of them are great students and great kids.  Needless to say, I have turned into a Sedro Woolley sports fan!
My husband, Roger, was a CPA in Mount Vernon until his retirement in January of last year when we found out he had to have a major cancer surgery.  It has been a tough journey with surgery and rounds of chemo and radiation.  He is doing fine now and is happy his hair is growing back.
Since my forced retirement, I have been seeing lots of my 93 year old father, golfing, playing bridge and having lunches with old friends.  My golf game sure isn't what it used to be when I was younger, but I still enjoy it (sometimes!).
Looking forward to seeing all of you who come to the reunion.  Until then!

Nancy

Married 2 4
After graduating from MVHS I attended Skagit Valley College for 2 years and met the love of my life Mary Bradford early in my second year and we married in the fall of 1967. We are coming up on 48 years this fall. We have 2 children and 4 wonderful grandchildren.

I started my working career with Boeing spending 7 years there and then moved onto a small engineering firm in Mt. Vernon. That job took me to Alaska where I was involved with a project in Prudhoe Bay for nearly 3 years. Although never moving to Alaska I spent the next 22 years working in construction and marine transportation up there. I traveled a lot and was away on long assignments often.

After Alaska I spent the last 10 years of my career working at Ste Michelle Wine Estates in Woodinville where we had a home during all those Alaska years. Ste Michelle was like a dream job for me. I worked in facilities and operations management and loved it. No more commuting and no more travel.

Mary spent 25 years working for the Greater Seattle YMCA and we both retired from our careers in 2013. In the spring of 2014, both of us were very tired of all the rain in the Northwest so we picked up our things sold our Woodinville home and moved to Southern Nevada in Mesquite. We have found our little piece of paradise down here and are so happy we made the move. The sun is out everyday.

Most of our activities are outside. We golf, bicycle, hike, walk and spend a lot of time pool side soaking up the rays. And we travel often to Boulder, CO to visit our daughter and her family and Leavenworth, WA to visit our son and grandson,

Committed Relationship 1 3
I recently retired from my plumbing business and am enjoying all of the 'other' work I have found to do.  I grow a great garden.  Try to keep Roberta on the straight and narrow which is a big job!  I like to take my boat around the San Juans for crabbing and go north to Desolation Sound each year to just relax.  Take care of my tri-plex in Mount Vernon and all the joys of being a manager.Looking forward to seeing everyone. Jay texted from Mazatlan, where he has lived for the last 16 years.  He spent 20 years in the army and 11 for the state Treasurer in Olympia before leaving it all behind.  It sounds as if Jay has a good life in Mexico and plans to stay there.
